Welcome Back

What a super start to our new term! Our new P1 children settled in very quickly and their parents and carers coped very well too although we did spy a few tissues on the way out!

Our children across the school looked very smart in their school uniforms and we would like to thank all of our parents and carers for supporting our vision regarding this.

P2-7 joined Mrs Forbes for the first 'Get Together' school assembly of the new term.  The focus was thinking about skills for learning, life and work and how to be a good leader. There will be range of leadership opportunities for the children across the school year with the first being the election of our Pupil Council Representatives.

The successful Pupil Council reps will develop their leadership skills across the year however they will have to convince their peers to vote for them and may wish to think about including the following in their 'speech':

I am able to take turns:

     •one person talking at a time;

     •looking at the person who is talking.

I am able to ensure that everyone’s ideas are heard:

     •positive body language e.g. eye contact;

     •encouraging phrases e.g. good idea, can you tell me more?

 The diary section of our website has been updated with term dates, parent contact times and events - the first event is this Friday (17th August) when all parents and carers are invited to come along to 'Meet the Teacher' from 2.30pm.

We look forward to working with all of our families this term and look forward to seeing you on Friday - if not before.

Kind regards

Mrs Forbes & Mrs White (Miss Oliver)
